Beyond the Veil, Book 3
By Elena Kincaid, Maia Dylan, and Sarah Marsh

Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Release Date: January 25, 2017
Cover Artist: Jay Aheer
Genre: MFM paranormal romance

Thank you so much for hosting us on your blog today. Bound To Their Faete is the third book in our Beyond The Veil series and we are currently working on the next book. What started out as a fun exercise in our Sinfully More Erotic street team turned into an entire series that the three of us fell in love with. A mysterious world Beyond The Veil as well as our very overprotective Shifters on this side of the Veil.

To be given visions of the future is no small gift, but gifts such as these do not come without a burden…

Blurb

Corrine, a Fae Seer, has spent a long time running. She finds sanctuary with a wolf pack after the Goddess sends her a vision that threatens to rob her of her mate. Her actions to save him come with grave consequences. When one mate turns into two, Corrine returns through the Veil seeking help to reverse what she’s done.

Wolf Alpha Gabe Errikson has spent years pining for a woman who was never meant to be his—or at least not according to his wolf, but he would give up anything, including a traditional mating to be with the woman he loves. When he finds out Corrine has been keeping something from him since day one, he wonders if he will be able to forgive her.

Braxas Beaumont, a cougar Alpha, knew from the moment he laid eyes on Corrine that she was his mate. He also discovers quickly that his long-time friend, Gabe, is hopelessly in love with her as well, but Braxas isn’t accustomed to sharing, especially when it comes to his mate.

Can two powerful Alphas come together to save the woman they are fated to from a darkness that is unlike anything they have ever known? Or will they be bound to their fate?

Stick a fork in it...

Blood of Angels is finished and off to my publisher! Huzzahs! This is my first submission of the year, and it felt so good to send it off (despite the fact that I'm now terrified it'll be rejected). This is also the first story I can cross off my 2017 To-Do list, which is pretty damn satisfying. So the list now looks like this:

Wild Blood MC #3 - technically I haven't actually started writing this yet, but I have enough of it planned that it counts.
The Last Sin - Russian mob romance
Keys to the Kingdom - London crime family romance/thriller
Impact - MMA/new adult romance
Last Hope, Alaska - shapeshifter romance

I'm not sure what I'll get to work on next. The temptation now is to try to finish off the shorter projects (Last Hope, Alaska being likely the shortest as I planned it for around 14-15k) and save the longer, more complex projects for later. But then, a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd probably drop Blood of Angels and Last Hope, Alaska off the To-Do list altogether and just work on the longer stuff, so who knows? I guess the moral is that I shouldn't plan too far ahead.

Anyway! I don't need to decide just yet, because my first job is to submit the Naomi Clark project I finished earlier this month. I had a friend offer to read through it for me before I do (he's read the other two books in the series, so he's a good second pair of eyes), but my hope is he'll be done by the weekend and I can work on it then. After that's also off to my publisher, I can figure out what to work on next.

Whatever I decide, I am probably going to be slowed down by the fact that my persist muscular-skeletal problems in my right arm have really flared up this week, so doing much of anything is painful, but typing is especially so. I'm hoping it'll die down again pretty quickly, but you just never know with this stupid thing. Anyway! In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy having crossed Blood of Angels off the list and plan my next move...

Sex Up Your Sunday with some Dark and Dirty action

Happy Sunday, folks! How's it going? I'm trying to finish up Blood of Angels this weekend (it's not going great, to be honest, but only because I haven't been able to actually sit down and write before now...). I have about 5k to play with if I'm going to stick to my self-imposed word limit of 14k. I won't be too worried if it goes over, but having a target in mind to reach is a good way of staying focused.

In the meantime, I have an anthology for you all to check out today! Lea Bronsen, DC Stone, R Brennan, and Kastil Eavenshade are here with the DARK AND DIRTY anthology. Looks to be a hot one!

Picture
Four dangerously dark and delicious stories that will awaken your dirtiest fantasies.

Introduction by USA Today bestselling author Jenika Snow.

NOT ONE NIGHT by D.C. Stone:
One night of pleasure isn’t worth losing a lifetime of friendship. Or a reputation. Or a career. A spot in the social standing. That irritating innocence. Or the always-so-present pride.
...
But it is worth losing her heart.

REDEEMER by Kastil Eavenshade:
His family has the wealth and power to give him anything … except approval.

Gianni Bencivenni marks his time in lines of cocaine. One lover is the same as the next within the walls of addiction—until his family puts a contract out on his life. On the run with the last man he wants to be in close quarters with, Gianni has to decide whether his yearning for acceptance and love can overpower his need for a drug-filled haze.

Johnny “Butcher” Mascagni marks the black sins he commits. Death is his profession and ghosts of the dead haunt his waking moments. His penance for the dark life he’s led. Through all the men who have shared his bed, love is a promise that eludes him. When a former lover becomes his last assignment, Butcher must decide if he can set his demons free and open his heart again.

SLICK by Lea Bronsen:
Ex-convict Luke has been fortunate enough to land a small job as a kitchen assistant, but he’s lonely and crippled by baggage from the past.

CEO Roman Spencer also has his share of problems. It doesn’t help that a tough and hot-headed kitchen worker begins to plague his mind…and body.

The more Luke runs into Roman, the more his dark fantasy turns into attraction. If he surrenders, his thug pride will effectively go down the drain.

ADDICTIONS by R. Brennan:
Alexis Harrison is a mess. She’s managed to blow out her knee, lose her scholarship, and get hooked on pain killers. Now she’s playing mule to her dealer, who is her only friend, to support her ever increasing habit.

If something doesn’t change soon, her addiction is going to cost Lexi more than just everything.

Wednesday Snippet - How could she deny him when he begged like that?

Well, after yesterday's indecision, I re-read Blood of Angels and realised it's...it's pretty damn good, you guys. So far, I mean. It's only 6k long at the moment, but it's a good 6k! I'm slightly worried I can't match what I've already written, but I'm going to give it my best shot. So here's a teaser. Enjoy!
Picture
He shuddered at her touch, but she sensed it was less pain and more pleasure now. The pungent scent of lavender hung in the air, lulling her into a steady rhythm as she massaged his back. The tension seeped out of him, drop by drop, in time with the rain beating on the window. Finally, she felt she had to stop. Her hands were free of salve and there seemed to be no other excuses to touch him. She raised her hands.

"Don't stop," he said, his voice almost too low to hear.

She remembered her earlier fear of even looking at him. She'd snapped past it so quickly she ought to have whiplash, but it was ridiculous to fear touching him now when they'd clung together like survivors of some disaster in the shower, when she'd just slid her palms all over that inhuman skin.

And yet, she hesitated. There was a danger here, just one she hadn't identified yet.

"Please," he said, "don't stop."

How could she deny him when he begged like that? Obligingly, she stroked his back again. Daringly, she swept her hand up the back of his neck and into the damp tangle of his silky hair. He arched into her touch with a soft sigh that encouraged her. She trailed her other hand down his spine, brushing the small of his back and the inviting curve of his buttocks. He shifted, leaning forwards as if to offer more of himself to her, and then Thea’s nerves failed. He was a work of art, a miracle. You didn’t manhandle art.

She withdrew her hands, folding them in her lap, her cheeks blazing.

The Burden of Choice...

So I finally finished my latest Naomi Clark project this weekend. Huzzahs! All that remains is to revise it and submit it...No small task, but it's the final leg of the journey and I'm excited to get this one out in the world. In the meantime, I'm ready for a change of pace. I always like to write a "palate cleanser" after finishing a longer project. I love writing short stories and I think doing so is an important part of the craft. Since I have a few short stories already started in my Amber Morgan files, I figured I'd finish one of those as my palate cleanser. Just have to decide which one...

I've touched briefly before on my to-do list for this year and how I wasn't going to start anything new, but rather focus on finishing my existing projects. So I have a choice of working on Last Hope, Alaska, my shifter romance, or Blood of Angels, my kind of Southern-Gothic-fallen-angel thingy romance. I'd rated them as pretty low priority on the list, because I thought I'd want to work on The Last Sin after finishing Lich Queen, but The Last Sin is threatening to become longer and more complex than I thought, and I want to give it the attention it deserves. Last Hope, Alaska and Blood of Angels can be fun, fast stories that will fit nicely in between more complicated projects, so they're jumping up the list for a bit!

And I also completely broke my "no new projects" resolution last week when I found myself writing 1k of a vampire romance. Bad author. But it's another piece that fits the "fun, fast short story" category, so I'm not going to beat myself up over it. It's also a story I've had at the back of my head for...maybe close to a decade now? It would be nice to finally actually write it.

Now I just need to decide which one to actually finish! When I asked for opinions online, angels seemed to beat out vampires and shapeshifters, so I'm going to crack open Blood of Angels and see if I can fire up the old muse. Wish me luck!

Happy Sunday once again! My day is mostly revolving around writing and fighting - I'm aiming to finish off a Naomi Clark project and I've got UFC208 on in the background. Once I've (finally!) finished the Naomi Clark thing, I'll be diving back into an Amber Morgan project. Just need to decide which one!

Meanwhile, I've got Sarah Marsh with me today with a look at her new release. In the mood for dragons? Of course you are!

Dragon Trap, Coalition Mates Book 5.

**AVAILABLE NOW!**

(Will be available on Amazon/Kobo/B&N etc approx. Feb 19)

All Marisol Lewis had ever wanted was a family, but her ex-husband back on Earth made sure that would never happen while they were together. Now? After waking up on an alien planet, she has a plan and she’s more determined than ever to see it through on her own.

When the contract comes up that will give her exactly what she’s always dreamed of, she’s eager to sign on the dotted line and begin the journey to her new home planet of Dolovia. But when things go horribly wrong, she ends up surrounded by mad doctors and Frankenstein space pirates.

Luca and Baelion are dragon shifters with a troubled past, shunned by their own people, they now work for the Coalition Council taking rescue jobs that no one else can do. They manage to find Marisol—but their rescue plans take a wrong turn and they all end up stranded on a dangerous quarantined planet.

Mari finds out the hard way that life often gets in the way of best-laid plans…and dragon shifters most definitely do get in the way of hers.

Good thing for her that dragons are naturally quite stubborn once they decide they want something—and they’ve decided she’s theirs.

Story Excerpt:

Mari stared at the sheer beauty of the male in front of her. His chest was a sculpture of rippling golden muscles. Fine beads of sweat made their way down his toned stomach, drawing her gaze ever lower. She watched as his hips swayed back and forth to the seductive music, his low, loose pants barely clinging to his lean body. She wasn’t sure if she’d even seen a more beautiful man before; it had certainly been long enough since she’d had her hands on any man at all. The sighs of the woman next to her finally broke the trance of his delectable gyrations and allowed her to turn her eyes away. No point in torturing herself any further with things that she couldn’t have.

“God, Mari, how can you even look away from a sight that divine?” Devyn fanned herself with both hands. “I mean, I love Benic like a brother, but when that boy dances, even I can’t keep my thoughts platonic.”

“Well, I’m almost old enough to be his mother, so I shouldn’t be gawking at him at all,” Marisol answered as she stood up from the stone bench where they’d been watching the dance performance. The gardens of the Courtesan Guild building were created for showcasing and practicing all sorts of exotic performance arts, and most of those who attended the classes or worked in the building loved to enjoy the shows.

“You’re leaving right in the middle of his routine?” Devyn asked, looking back at her as if she were crazy.

“I’ve got an appointment with the Guild Matron in twenty minutes. Sally says she’s found the perfect contract for me.”

“Oh,” Devyn answered with a frown. “This soon? I thought it would take longer, that we’d have at least until I’m done with classes before you shipped off to planets unknown.”

Mari reached over and gave her friend a tight hug. For some reason, little Devyn’s perky, outrageous personality had meshed perfectly with her own—surprisingly, since she’d been told on more than one occasion that she was too serious, too much of a control freak. So the tiny tornado of happiness had become her best friend here, and if she was sent off world, she would miss her something fierce.

“Don’t worry, Devyn. It might not even be one that I want,” Mari said with a shrug. “No point in worrying over nothing. I’ll see you after.”

As Marisol walked back through the education center and into the Courtesan admin wing, she had to admire the sensuous beauty of the building. If she had been ten years younger and perhaps a little bit braver, she would have loved to apply to the Courtesan Guild. It sounded so glamorous and fascinating, and Sally certainly couldn’t look any happier than she was in her new role as Guild Matron. Of course, it didn’t hurt that it was a role that just happened to come with a smoking-hot husband, Guild Master Arkenon Quinn. A more devastating alpha male Mari had never met, and she couldn’t help but be a little jealous of her friend.

She walked into Sally’s new office and was not surprised to see the intimidating Kalista Dax standing at the secretary’s desk, going over some paperwork. When the former Tokka assassin turned her unsettling solid blue eyes toward Mari, it was all she could do not to book it back out the damned door. Kali had always been very nice to the rest of the rescued Earthers and actively went out of her way to make friends, but the rumors of the kind of violence she was capable of left Mari just a bit freaked out.

“Hello, Marisol. Are you here for your appointment with the Guild Matron?” Kali asked, an almost smile trying to form on her beautiful, pale white face.

Mari knew that Kali liked to spend so much time with the Earth females because they were so expressive emotionally. She was only half Tokka and had been forced to suppress her physical expressions at an early age. Since Kali had defected from a society where it was unacceptable to show emotions of any kind, she was trying to learn by observing them, and sometimes the results could be…unsettling.

“Yes, Sally said that she may have found a placement for me,” Mari answered, trying to maintain eye contact with the much taller woman.

“Mari, come on in!” Sally bellowed from her desk, which made both Mari and Kali smile at how outrageous their new Guild Matron could be.

Sally was up to her elbows in material swatches when Marisol sat down in front of the large desk. The office was beautiful, with an incredible view of the mountains through the floor-to-ceiling windows on one side. The furniture was all made in a black wood that looked exotic and expensive. But then again, Sally’s new position as Guild Matron was one of the most important on the entire planet of Sirus. It was just strange because Sally really didn’t seem to care about the prestige at all. She had really grown into herself since that day they had all walked out of their rooms for the first time and realized they were now on an alien planet, but she was still just Sally to the rest of her friends.

“Argh, I’m supposed to decide on material for new dresses for the council meetings, and I seriously couldn’t care less. I wonder if I can hire someone to do all of this clothing crap for me?” the Guild Matron said, shoving the material to the other side of the desk with a look of disgust. “So how are you, Mari? How are the classes going?”

“Good, Sal. I’m almost done with the EMT equivalent, so I’m sure that will be handy to have on top of my nursing experience. You said you had a possible match for me for placement?” She squirmed in her chair, trying not to look too excited.

About the author:

Sarah Marsh was born in British Columbia where she still lives, she has only recently began her writing career finding it the perfect outlet for taking the edge off a nine to five office job. She’s been a science fiction and romance junkie for years and when her imagination started to take the characters she’d read about even further in their adventures she decided to try writing something of her own.

Sarah’s also a former pastry chef and spends a lot of time cooking and baking for friends and family as well as painting and knitting. Her biggest weaknesses are animals of any kind…she even loves the ones that wake you up at four in the morning because they can almost see the bottom of their food dish.

When it comes to life in general she’s a big believer that laughter is the best medicine and that there’s no such thing as too much love, which is why she’s such a sucker for a happy ending.

I've been slacking off a bit recently on posting my own stuff, and I'm going to try to rectify that. Mostly it's because I've been making good progress on my current Naomi Clark wip, which means I haven't been working on The Last Sin very much. However! I'm lucky to have plenty of guest blogs to pick up the slack for me. And today it's Andi Bremner with her new release. Let's take a look!

How much of your heart would you give if you knew how short life could be?

Juliette Reynolds knows that life is a precious gift that could be snatched away at any moment. A survivor of childhood leukemia she lives her life seeking fun, adventure and love at every turn making no commitments and never settling in one place for too long in her quest to experience life to the fullest. Her latest adventure has bought her to Myrtle Beach where she meets Noah Daniels. Having lost his wife in a freak boating accident three years ago Noah also knows how quickly life can be sucked away.

But Juliette, with her zest for life and eternal optimism, is determined to wake Noah up and bring him back into the world of the living.  That is, until it seems like living is what she might not get to do.

Picture
“I’m going to be completely honest with you, Juliette,” Noah told her as soon as they were back in his pickup truck. “I don’t want to take you back yet. I want to take you home. Home to my house.”

She beamed at him. “I’d like that.”

He frowned. “Do you understand what I am saying? That I want to take you home and I want to take you to bed.”

“I know. I want to go to bed. With you.”

He growled and started the truck up. Before he pulled out from the curb though he looked over at her, wanting to make it clear, needing her to know before … so that she didn’t have any false expectations of what this was and of what to expect.

“I want to take you home, Jules…”

“Juliette,” she interrupted quietly. “I prefer Juliette.”

He nodded before continuing. “I want to take you home and I want to take you to bed and I want to fuck you. I want to fuck you hard. But … and I need you to know this, I need you to understand—I don’t want anything more. I don’t want a relationship, I don’t want you to move in, I don’t want this to be anything more than what it is. I’m not looking for anything more.”

Juliette nodded. “I understand completely.”

He narrowed his eyes. “You do?”

“No commitment,” she said. “I get it. I don’t want that either, although I do like the idea of you fucking me hard.”

Noah growled again, his eyes roaming over her face taking in every exquisite detail. Where the hell had this girl come from? She was perfect. Perfect for him. Sexy, gorgeous, oozing a zest for life that was severely missing from his and a commitment-phobic as well. Well, not so much a commitment phobic but more an avoider … like him. It was like Providence had bought her to him.

Noah drove the short distance to his house his mind fixed on nothing else but Juliette. When they arrived at his house he ran around to open her door watching her face as she took in the small, single story bungalow he called home.

“This is so cute,” she cried, following him up the path. “I love it.”

“Of course you do,” he said, fumbling with his keys and unlocking the door. Immediately Loop, his dog, flew at them, covering Noah with licks and racing around like a loony in her excitement to have him own. Then she turned her attention on Juliette, doing the same for her.

“Is this your guard dog?” Juliette laughed, ruffling the hair on the back of Loop’s head. “She is useless but oh so cute!”

“Loopsy,” Noah growled. “Get down.”

Juliette crouched down and scratched Loop’s belly as she laughed. “She is so cute! Hello, Loopsy, my name’s Juliette. I guess they call you Loopsy because you are a bit crazy?”

Noah scowled. “She’s completely crazy. I tried to train her, but she’s too nuts.”

“Well you know what,” Juliette laughed, speaking to the dog, “I’ve been called crazy before, too. I think it’s just that we’re misunderstood though. Don’t you think, Loops?”

Noah shook his head, feeling strangely jealous that Juliette was lavishing her attention on his crazy cocker spaniel when he wanted all her attention on him. Grabbing her hand, he pulled her to her feet, ignoring the surprised look on her face.

“I should offer you a drink or something,” he said, his eyes roaming over her face, “but really I just want to take that sexy as all hell dress off.”

Juliette’s pupils dilated, and the dog, it seemed, was completely forgotten. “I had enough to eat and drink tonight. At the restaurant.”

Noah drew her towards him, planting his mouth firmly and possessively against hers. He didn’t bother going gently this time, didn’t bother easing her into the kiss. Instead he unleashed everything he had, every feeling he had as he let his mouth slant over hers, as he forced her lips apart and thrust his tongue deep within her mouth, tasting and savoring her.

Dragging her with him he pulled her further into his house, through the living room and down the short corridor to his bedroom. He’d already closed the curtains earlier and left a low bedside lamp on, which now cast the room in a pale yellow light. Pausing, he glanced at the rumpled bedding wishing he’d made the bed that morning. Not that it mattered, he planned on messing it up very soon.

“Take your dress off, Juliette,” he commanded, against her mouth, “please.”

“I like your manners,” she told him as she pulled back, tugging at the tie around her neck. “You’re such a gentleman.”

“You won’t think I’m such a gentleman,” he grumbled, watching as she slid the dress ever so softly off her shoulders and let it fall unheeded to the floor, “when I’m fucking you senseless and making you scream.”

Her mouth fell open, and her eyes, those pools of sea green, went wide. Noah felt another possessive, almost caveman like grumble building in his chest.

Dropping his eyes, he let his gaze run over her body, pausing at that odd scar a moment before dipping further, moving over her breasts, down her smooth, flat stomach, over the curve of her hips and lingering on the pale blue, lacy panties that covered her center.

“Take everything off.”

Her mouth twitched. “Have you forgotten your manners already?”

His pulled his eyes up to meet hers, swallowing over the thickening in his throat. “Please.”

Juliette grinned, reaching around to unclasp her bra, drawing it slowly down her arms before discarding it on the floor with her dress. She was just about to reach for her panties when Noah lunged at her, his mouth clamping down on hers as he pulled her against him, crushing her against him. Juliette made a small sound of surprise, but that was quickly stifled by his mouth on hers. Stumbling, he led her back to the bed where they fell, his mouth barely breaking its assault on hers as his hands ran the length of her body, cupping and caressing her breasts, pinching the peaks until they stood as hard nubs and Juliette cried out in his mouth.

Her hand slid beneath his shirt, tugging it from the waistband. He pulled back at her insistence and pulled it over his head, throwing it somewhere in the room before he lowered his head back down to hers, relishing in the feel of her soft breasts against his hard chest, the differences between them. How smooth and soft she was against his hardness, how cool her skin was to touch whilst his felt almost feverish. It was almost as if the differences between them made them perfect for one another.

Her hands were running over him, over the hard planes and angles of his body, her fingers tracing the sharpened contours. He felt massive, looming over her, and carefully rested his body weight on his arms even as he wanted to get closer.

Lowering his head, he closed his mouth over a breast, sucking her nipple deep as she arched against him. His hand squeezed and pinched her nipple, and Juliette pressed her hands into his hair, urging him closer as the sounds continued to escape her. God, he loved those sounds she made. It was like angels singing or the sweetest concerto he had had ever heard.

He switched, turning his attention to her other breast, as he ran another hand over her flat belly and wrapped her hip, jerking her against him, lifting her butt from the bed. Then he kissed lower, his tongue running over her skin, licking and then dipping into her belly button.

“Noah,” she murmured beneath him, tugging at his head. “Oh God.”

“Hmmn?” he whispered against her skin as his mouth skimmed the top of her panties, which were so fine and lacy that they left nothing to the imagination. Not that Noah had to imagine what she looked like. The image of her, naked and dripping wet that morning, had been seared into his mind, into his heart. She was bare, shaved or waxed, he didn’t know, but she was bare. When he tugged at her panties she dug her heels into the bed and lifted her hips allowing him to slide them down her thighs and throw them away.

“Noah,” she whimpered beneath him, shivering a little.

Raising his head, he looked at her, drawing her deep into his memory bank and imprinting her there. Head back, lost in the pillows, eyes closed, swollen lips open and panting, breasts heaving, nipples hardened, legs spread for him, pussy arching up to meet him.

Noah growled, a low rumble in his chest as he ran a hand lightly over her center. She was wet already, and he sucked in a breath. God, could this girl be any more perfect?

Sliding one finger along her folds he dipped a finger inside watching as her mouth fell open and she arched off the bed, legs opening to give him further access. Gently, he pressed a thumb to her nub, circling ever so slowly as she began to writhe and grab at him, murmuring his name. His chest constricted at the marvelous sight unfolding before him, and when he dipped his head to taste her little bit of heaven, he thought he’d come undone.

“Noah,” she whimpered louder now. “Noah…”

“Yeah, baby. I want you to come. I want to watch you come for me.”

Her legs were trembling, her thighs clamping around his head as she arched against him, using her hands to press him further closer, searching for her release. He kept his eyes open, watching her, loving the way her orgasm built, loving how she lost herself in him, in his touch, in his mouth.

Andi

Andi Bremner is a romance writer who is lucky enough to live by the beautiful Indian Ocean in Western Australia with her husband and three children.

Andi grew up with her nose in a book and her head in the clouds.  Her favourite books were the ones that transported her away to another world full of dashing heroes and damsels in distress set in faraway time periods.  Romance, and in particular, complicated romances soon became her favourite novels to read and write and she now writes angst ridden tales of first love with some steamy interludes thrown in as well.

On the weekends Andi can be found ferrying her children to their various after school activities or hiking and camping in the stunning Australian outdoors.

Drummer Girl is the first story in the Moonstone Series. Trinity (Book 1) was published on 1 April 2016. Stay tuned for Book 3 coming soon.
